Essex
We were appointed the task of taking a dark and poorly designed kitchen and creating an area of the house that is fully functional with the efficient use of space.
The space we had to work with was limited and with little budget to extend this Essex property this called on the creativity of Atlantis to utilse modern thinking including the installation of new lighting with bold colours to add warmth and depth.
After removing the old kitchen units, floor and taking out both the door and kitchen window we began to envisage the space we had to work with. With an empty room before us, we worked with the client to create a space that would suit their needs.
Turning our refurbishment skills to window installation, we made this Essex property secure with the installation of a new double glass paneled door to allow for more natural light.
During the refurbishment we added halogen spot lights with matching lights installed in the underneath of the kitchen units, both could be turned on independently thus allowing the client to set the lighting mood accordingly.
From here we went on to re-tile and decorate the kitchen in bold colours, creating a feature wall to the rear. To complete the kitchen installation we installed a new cooker with a brushed stainless steel hood.
At Atlantis we take our responsibility to the environment very seriously. All our materials when possible are sourced from sustainable sources and waste is kept to a minimum.
During the refurbishment we acquired lots of polystyrene and packaging waste which we recycled locally at a recycling centre.
We also removed all the old appliances and installed brand new energy efficient products. All the installation works were carried out between working hours and therefore reducing the noise impact on the neighnours.
Within a short space of time we had taken the dark and gloomy kitchen, with an Atlantis installation created a space within the home that could be enjoyed at anytime of the day.
The use of bold colours and brushed stainless steel finishes created the illusion of extra space whilst the new kitchen door let natural light flood in as well.
