This Chelmsford client approached Atlantis for installation of a conservatory to the side of the property that would open up the cluttered dining space by creating a separate room accessed via two small walkways, joining the kitchen, dining room and conservatory together maximising space.
In doing so we would enhance the existing fireplace feature currently tucked away in the corner of the kitchen whilst also with installation of modern kitchen fittings throughout.
When we began to open up the space in the kitchen we started to carefully remove the existing floor boards.
However it quickly became apparent that these were suffering from dry rot, this would require careful removal in a controlled manner and disposed of safely.
This added several days of additional work to the conservatory build and we then replaced the floor throughout with solid concrete.
Whilst the foundations for the conservatory were being dug and the floorboards removed, to create a double walkway we removed two windows to the side of the property and made a door opening to the side of the fireplace.
With the installation of the conservatory now well underway, the kitchen area was taken back to the brickwork, re-plastered and decorated before the installation of a new style kitchen to the country house in Chelmsford.
The fireplace that was once tucked in to the corner of the kitchen was now opened up, allowing complete access.
With the conservatory installation complete and now being fitted with the electrical items and the kitchen fixtures, this Chelmsford project was moved outside to lay a patio area and step down in to the garden.
The installation of the new tiled floor in the kitchen complimenting the energy efficient under floor heating system that was installed to complete the kitchen project.
Having opened up the kitchen area and utilising much of the dead space within the garden, the installation of the conservatory client brief was met and exceed in quality of the finish throughout.
The small walkways created two separate but usable spaces and allows for the different members of the family to use the conservatory and kitchen space accordingly.
