The objective

The dealership asked Atlantis Project Management and Construction to carry out a full and comprehensive commercial refurbishment of the existing car showroom to bring it in line with the competition.

This would draw on all of our construction experience and skills in carrying out a complex commercial refurbishment within a tight timescale.

The challenges

This was a complex commercial refurbishment project requiring the full renovation of the motor showroom including a large amount of demolition from the existing building.

This involved the use of heavy construction equipment which needed to managed effectively to reduce the impact on the neighbours businesses.

We liaised and planned noisy periods with both the client and the business upstairs to minimize disturbance and reduce the impact on trade.

The construction project itself was around 300 square meters, with the internal shell of the car showroom requiring significant improvements and renovation due to previous poor maintenance.

The method

Once we understood what the client required from the commercial refurbishment we started work on the car showroom and took the building back to its original build.

With this empty shell of a car showroom we began the heavy demolition and construction work to bring the property back to a high standard.

With the car showroom building secured and safe for construction work to start, we began the commercial refurbishment process, building in line with the clients specifications for a clean, professional workspace.

Working from the foundations up we drew on the skills and experience of the commercial refurbishment team to put in place the frame work of the car showroom before working on the finer details that made a real difference to the customer space.

Waste and environment

This commercial refurbishment construction project required alot of demolition and waste being removed and sent off for recycling by our approved contractor. We have to purchase alot of new construction materials so we was careful not to over order and waste resources.

The contract administrator was excellent in this commercial refurbishment project by specifying products that gave flexibility but sustainable working life to the car showroom.

The result

The commercial refurbishment of this local car showroom was completed on time and within budget which exceeded the expectations of the dealership.

We worked with the client closely throughout to understand their needs and shape the requirements of the space to the business.
