Upstairs wet room, shower bathroom, Wickford, Essex

The Objective

During this wet room project we were tasked to enlarge the existing bathroom space to provide a walk in shower and combined WC facility.

The challenges

With the lack of space within the existing bathroom area we had to knock through the stud wall in to the adjoining airing cupboard and make good space created, adding in new pipe work and drainage to create the wet room.

The method

Once we had started work in knocking through to the adjoining airing cupboard, we systematically removed the existing bathroom suite before the new shower installation could take place.

Once we had an empty bathroom to work with we began by installing a significant upgrade to the properties shower plumbing, removing several pipe boxes and laying them beneath the floorboards to make space for the new wet room.

With the new wet room plumbing in place we began to fit the new walk in shower, basin and toilet to a high specification of which we have become known for.

To give maximum confidence to the client, we fibre glassed the purpose made shower wet room tray to guarantee no leaks.

The result

Within a short space of time and well within the clients budget we completely refurbished and installed a brand new bathroom suite to their exact specification along with the shower.

The finishing touches to the room were made using glass tiles to reflect light throughout the room and give it a different feel to many off the shelf bathroom suites.

The hang off the wall pan definitely made the room feel bigger and also provided many advantages one being it was far easier to keep the floor clean.

We introduced a small towel rail that made a massive difference in the winter months, taking the edge off chilling morning and evening showers.
